BIRDWATCHING

The Delta is considered one of the world’s largest river landforms. It is a freshwater delta that flows into the Río de la Plata and is continually growing through sediment carried by the Paraná River.

Its islands have raised banks and lower wetland centres. Permanent and seasonal flooding creates a unique ecosystem between land and water.

Native and exotic trees, reeds and aquatic plants provide habitat for nearly 300 bird species.
